UPDATE: Wednesday, January 28, 2026
Out of an abundance of caution, all Bossier schools and district offices will remain CLOSED Thursday, January 29 as the district continues to assess the impact the recent winter storm is having on operations.
Though the ice is melting, considerable hazards remain on roadways, bus ramps, in car lines and on our school campuses, making it unsafe for our students and staff to return. In addition, the National Weather Service is forecasting freezing fog overnight and into Thursday morning, heightening the danger of traveling.
It is our hope to reopen Friday, January 30 after another day of above-freezing temperatures. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding this week and will provide another update at 4 p.m. Thursday.

Plain Dealing High School Families,
This is a reminder that all high school students taking English II or Biology this term will begin their LEAP exam tomorrow and continue testing through Friday. These assessments are an important measure of your child’s academic progress and mastery of essential standards.
It is very important that these students are on campus Wednesday (12/10) through Friday (12/12) to complete all required testing.
Please encourage your student to do their very best, get a good night’s sleep, and eat a healthy breakfast each morning. Our students have worked hard, and they are prepared and ready to succeed!

PDHS Elementary is preparing to enter the iCanstruction event at the 2026 i3 Art Expo! Their ambitious project will reflect i3's theme of "Freedom's Canvas" in honor of our nation's 250th birthday. To complete their build, students need canned food donations with labels of certain colors. All the cans used in the project will be donated to food pantries and families in need following the competition, so they must be unopened and with the labels intact. PLEASE DO NOT DONATE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, but soda cans are permitted. The cans we are in need of most are the following: Blue Labels - ex. Progresso Soup, Goya Beans; Red Labels - ex. Campbells Soup, Hunts Tomato; White Labels - ex. Campbells Soup; Brown Labels - ex. Root Beer (A&W, Mug).
The brand names mentioned are just suggestions; we will happily accept anything you generously donate! We will be permitted to cover a certain number of cans in construction paper, so please do not hesitate to donate items with labels colored differently. If you have any questions regarding this project or how you can support it, please contact Mrs. Pinter via email at
jennyne.pinter@bossierschools.org.
