This summer, Camryn Grimsley attended the Educators Rising National Conference in Washington DC with over 3,000 other aspiring educators. At this event, Camryn participated in the Public Speaking competition. She delivered an inspirational speech in which she discussed her ideas for developing the positive perception of a career in education throughout her community.
As a result of her outstanding effort, she was named a National Chalpion in this event! She received a medal from the organization as a recognition of her accomplishment. Congratulations to Camryn! TIGER PRIDE!

✏️ September is Attendnace Awareness Month
✏️Too many absences, excused or unexcused, can keep students from succeeding in school and in life. How many are too many? 10% of the school year—that's 18 missed days or 2 days a month-can knock students off track.
✏️BHS will be doing a drawing for students with perfect attendbace during the month of September. A student from each grade level will be drawn for a gift card!

🏈BHS JAMBOREE TICKETS🏈
Jamboree tickets are on sale in the front office this week. Tickets are $8 a piece and the school gets to keep $1 of every ticket sold. Buy your tickets early! BHS takes on Haughton at 8:45pm this Friday!
Students interested in joining the BHS Debate Team, there will be a quick information meeting during third block flex time on Wednesday. The meeting will occur in the commons area in front of the library.
BHS Homecoming Court Elections
Students will vote on Homecoming Court this Thursday during Tiger Time. Nominees with a GPA of 2.5 or higher will be on a list outside of B-123/B-125, Seniors should stop by and check their name before Thursday.
BHS Shooting Sports Info
There will be an informational meeting for parents for the students who signed up for the Benton High School Shooting Sports Team. The meeting will be this Wednesday, August 28th at 5:30 at the BPSO shooting range, located at 2981 Old Plain Dealing Road.

We are looking forward to an exciting Tiger Pride Night on Tuesday, August 27th, at 6:30 PM. In an effort to continue to maintain a secure campus, fans will pass through a security feature prior to entering the stadium. Please make sure to follow the guidelines below when entering Newman-Mason Field. Your cooperation will allow our fans to enter the stadium as efficiently as possible. Please allow plenty of time to enter the stadium prior to the start of the event. Snacks and water will be sold in the concession stand.
Stadium Guidelines:
No backpacks
No outside food or drinks
No metal cups
No weapons
No re-entry
All middle school/elementary aged children must be accompanied by an adult
Parking:
No parking along Hwy 3 or Rubicon Road
All fans must enter through the home side ticket gate (west side of the stadium)
Additional parking is on the visitor side (east side of the stadium)
Fans may park on the visitor side and walk along the sidewalk at the north end of the stadium (between stadium and BIS gym) to enter the home gate
Calling all Senior Girls!
The Commission for Women of Bossier City is seeking applications from high school senior girls for its 2024-25 mentoring program, which furthers its mission to empower young women.
Bossier Parish high school seniors are paired with Commissioners to develop leadership skills and participate in team building, learn about self-defense, etiquette, government and quality of life. Mentees will also have the opportunity to apply for scholarships at the end of the year.
The deadline for applications to be turned in to high school senior counselors is noon this Friday, August 23.
