Please remember that any outside food or drink MUST be removed from original restaurant packaging! This includes items in your child's lunchbox, as well as bottled/canned soft drinks. For example, you are bringing your child a Happy Meal: ALL of the contents of that meal must be placed in an alternate packaging such as a ziploc, brown paper bag, etc. including drinks. No burger wrappers or fry boxes are allowed. This also includes the restaurant box or bag.
Thank you for your help with this matter!
Page seven (7) of the T.L. Rodes Student Handbook states:
"According to Louisiana State Law, soft drinks (even in sack lunches) and outside food service foods (ex: restaurants, fast foods) in their original wrappings are not permitted in the cafeteria. A student may bring those items in their lunch boxes if they are in a thermos or wrapped in unmarked wrap. Family members who bring these items to students in original wrapping, bags, cups, etc. will be asked to remove them from the cafeteria."
